A free book for children about the Coronavirus. The Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler, worked with consultant Professor Graham Medley, two head teachers and a psychologist to make sure the book got the messages right, answering questions about quarantine, how you can catch the virus and what happens if you get it. The Link CiC, Mental Health Service for Children, Young People and Families: During these difficult times we are aware that many children, young people and families may be anxious, struggling to cope with the daily changes or just need someone to talk to. We have therefore, set up a daily duty telephone line which will be manned by one of our therapeutic practitioners between 2pm and 4pm everyday. If you would like to access this support then please call 01642 505580 and select option 3 during these times and you will be transferred straight through. You do not need to be accessing The Link, or be waiting to access, to utilise this telephone line, if you need information, advice or support then please give us a call and we will do what we can to help.
The Junction Foundation are continuing to support children, young people and families during these unprecedented times. Their services will continue to operate remotely. They offer weekly online groups to promote positive wellbeing – contact 01642 756000 for more information.
Youngminds.org.uk specific resources for young people, and parents around managing the impact of the coronavirus. They also have a textline for young people needing urgent support around their mental health on: 85258.
Childline Get help and advice about a wide range of issues, call them on 0800 1111, talk to a counsellor online, send Childline an email or post on the message boards.
